3.  Set your sites on a plan for your home, incorporating  size, function and appeal.
     Look through log home books and magazines.

4.  Consider how you want to build your home; will you use a general contractor for some work and finish yourself?  or have the whole project completed by your builder?

5.  Check out log home companies and compare.
